Located near the planet Bajor, the Deep Space Nine space station is the last stop on the trip through a wormhole to the Gamma Quadrant. On board, many different races and individuals must learn to get along with one another as they explore new frontiers and civilizations.
As a colonel in the Bajoran military, Kira Nerys, led the resistance against the Cardassian occupation before becoming a liaison with the Federation on board the station Deep Space Nine. She worked on a daily basis with Captain Benjamin Sisko in the running of the space station. She worked closely with the other members of the Federation crew, even going as far as carrying the unborn child Miles O'Brien and his wife when Kieko was injured in an attack. She would continue serving onboard the space station during the Dominion War when Gul Dukat returned to the station, but Kira would go on to help repel the invaders and stay on as the Commander of Deep Space Nine.
