Bounding off of the success of 3 3/4" comic book multi-packs from the early 2000s, Hasbro released a number of comic book 3 3/4" 2-packs beginning in 2008 and are still currently being released. While very few newly sculpted pieces were incorporated in the production of the packs, they did feature a variety of retooled and repainted figures and accessories as well as a high-quality reprint of either a modern or classic G.I. Joe comic. Later in the line, newly written comics created exclusively for these 2-packs were penned by G.I. Joe legend Lary Hama and featured covers and interior art by renown industry professionals.
Fan favorite Copperhead sports newly sculpted legs and a new head, but the remainder of his body was borrowed from the 1st version of Roadblock who was released as part of the 25th anniversary collection G.I. Joe boxed set in 2007. Among Copperhead's accessories is an M-16 machine gun with mounted M-79 grenade launcher, the same weapon included with the Python Patrol Copperhead which was released single-carded in the vintage A Real American Hero collection in the late 1980s.
Shipwreck is a repainted version of the 25th anniversary Real American Hero 3 3/4" figure released in 2007, and includes his long time pal and pet parrot name Polly. Additionally, this version of Shiwreck came with a removable orange life vest accessory.
