He's one of the nameless, faceless infantry troopers in the vast COBRA army. These ground fighters have given their allegiance to COBRA COMMANDER (but just until someone more powerful usurps the head snake). The majority of these troopers come from the countless criminals and lowlifes that are found in every shadowy corner of the world, eager for a chance to wreak havoc on a grander scale and enticed by the promise of rich plunder. They are highly skilled in various weapons, qualified in the use of explosives, and experienced in the marital arts. "We're the grunts of the COBRA organization, the guys who pour into the field and fight for all we're worth, overpowering the enemy with might, meanness and machine guns."
This version of the Cobra Trooper is a slight repaint of the 25th Anniversary wave 1 '07 figure of the same name. The most notable difference is that the figure now sports a red facemask and red Cobra sigils (reminiscent of the wave 1 1982 Hasbro figure). While the original Hasbro release never had a red facemask, that particular characteristic is found predominantly in the vintage G.I. Joe comic series published by Marvel Comics. Collectors may now have the correct comic book version they have been longing for. The figure includes a knife, machine gun (all black, no brown coloring like the wave 1 '07 release), helmet, and stand.
