Bio: MUTT is a natural with animals. He likes them, and they like him. The problem is that he gets along better with dogs than he does with humans. He graduated Jungle Warfare Training School, and was attached as a cadre to Special Ops School and as an advisor to the Security and Enforcement Committee. He and his K-9 dog JUNKYARD have worked together so long, they no longer need to give each other audible or visual signals. It's almost as if they function as one organism. Qualified expert: M-16, M-14, M-1911A1 auto pistol, and MAC-11. "If you're sitting next to MUTT in the mess hall, don't try filching anything from his tray - he might bite your leg off. His dog is much more polite."

Originally part of the third series of Hasbro's vintage G.I. Joe toy line based on their appearances in the original G.I. Joe animated series, the modern versions of Mutt & Junkyard do not deviate much from what made the 1984 duo so successful with children. Released in a wave that also saw the inclusion of a pet eagle named Freedom (paired with the G.I. Joe tracker, codenamed Spirit), it was no mistake that Mutt was paired with his long time pal Junkyard so early in G.I. Joe lore. The instant & widespread appeal with fans paved the way for countless other animal pairings in years to come. Junkyard was personified in such a way in the cartoon that children were technically getting two figures for the price of one. Borrowing the upper arms and torso of a 25th Anniversary Cobra Viper, the remainder of Mutt is an entirely new sculpt, as is his dog Junkyard. Included with Mutt & Junkyard is Mutt's signature nightstick, submachine gun, helmet, removable partial facemask, Junkyard's leash, and a stand.
