In lieu of the waist-twisting action feature included on both the classic and 200X version of Mekaneck, Mattel went with more aesthetically sound, interchangeable, neck extenders as the means of "extending" Mekaneck's neck in the MOTUC line. The longer of the two extenders allows Mekaneck to periscope his head to heights that would have proven difficult to engineer with an action feature.
