From Season One, Episode 2 --Pilot: Part Two, fans learn that Charlie is the famed bass player from the band Drive Shaft. Although very few survivors recognize the "one-hit wonder" musician, Charlie has the DS ring to prove his status.
The prop is a full-scale replica of the ring worn by Charlie on the show.
