Making the Magneto figure look like it was made of gold, the redheaded stepchild of Toy Biz’ X-Men: The Movie action figure collection is without a doubt Mystique. Such a shame when one considers the fact that the character had the two most powerful lines in the first two films. On the silver screen, Mystique was the point of legitimacy for the Bryan Singer directed X-Men films, but in the action figure aisle Mystique was the plastic equivalent of the bubonic plague and became the text book definition of ‘peg warmer’.
Produced to be available during the theatrical release of the feature film, the X-Men: the Movie action figure collection by Toy Biz dominated the toy shelves in 2000.
