Mattel 5th Q&A Session: The Answers

As part of Mattel's bi-weekly Q&A session, Cool Toy Review passed on 3 of your burning questions and now we've got the answers for you.
Cool Toy Review: What exactly is the Penguin's variant supposed to be. I've heard he will include the robotic penguin, but nothing else would be different. If so, is the variant going to be like the DCSH series 1 Bane where only the chase version will have the extra accessory?
Mattel: Originally the Penguin was going to be like Bane and have a sidekick accessory in the chase version but for various reasons, this was removed. We may wind up offering this accessory again down the line, but for now the Penguin will not have a variant. There will be another variant in wave, but you will just have to be an eagle eye on the aisles to find it!
Cool Toy Review: Can you tell us roughly how rare DC Superheroes variants will be? Considering Wave 1 has 5 figures in a 6 figure case, it could mean we'll see the regular 5 + a red tornado variant - but I doubt it. Probably just a second Batman. I expect the same with wave 2 - probably just both colors of Superman. Considering some variants are easy to find (Legendary Comic Book heroes) and some are tough (Marvel Legends 2) - it'd be nice to know how tough it'll be to find the classic variant figures.
Mattel: The variants will differ depending on fan demand. A maskless or face change variant might be something like 90/10 or 80/20, vs. a different character variant, which will be closer to 50/50. There will not be a set rule for the line. Each variant will have its own unique ratio depending on fan demand.
Cool Toy Review: Any updates on the long-rumored Legion of Super-Heroes line? Please?
Mattel: We are exploring a few options, but are very committed to getting these to consumers. Until we have something official to announce, we just ask for your patience.
