TF2010 Spotlight: Hasbro's Marvel Universe Galactus
Posted by Curto on February 18, 2010 at 08:38 AM CST:

Now that we've dominated our Toy Fair coverage and returned back to our real lives, it's time to take a look back at some of the highlights from last weekend's event in the Big Apple.

Over the next week or so, look for special reports that spotlight some of the coolest collectibles that were shown at Toy Fair, starting with the biggest one of all....the mighty Galactus!

Hasbro's Marvel Universe Galactus
During last year's Hasbro presentation, we were teased with the possibility of an all-new Galactus for the then-new Marvel Universe line. We'd have to wait even longer until San Diego Comic-Con before we got a first look at this impressive figure, but now all the details have emerged from the crunch!

Packaged in a unique window box with a flip-open cover, the story of Galactus goes back to his first appearance, when the Silver Surfer was his herald.

Galactus himself stands at 19" tall, and he is an all-new super-articulated figure with a fantastic deco. While he is based on the comic book appearance, fans of the Marvel Ultimate Alliance video game may recognize there are a number of details in his armor that are inspired from the game. This makes this version even more unique, as previous figures of the Big G were strictly comic-based.

Also included in this set is a new deco for the Silver Surfer...this time he's actually silver. The perfect "accessory" for this impressive figure.

Finally, Hasbro has made this figure even more impressive with the inclusion of lights and sound effects, incorporated into the head and torso. Check out the video clip below, which showcases the various phrases spoken by the World Devourer!
