New York Comic Con 2015: DC Super Hero Girls Wow With Big Reveals

Posted by: Adam on October 9, 2015 at 11:05 PM CST

Earlier this week we reported on the launch of DC Super Hero Girls, and it proved to be a huge success, judging by the press release we received.

During a packed panel earlier today, New York Comic Con attendees received the first in-depth look at DC Super Hero Girls, the new Super Hero universe created for girls featuring iconic DC Comics female characters including Wonder Woman, Supergirl, Batgirl, and Harley Quinn. NYCC fans even joined in on the fun by putting their own DCSHG capes on and proudly displaying their excitement for the new universe that features animated content, books, toys apparel and more.

The panel was action-packed, with many big reveals including the premiere of the second DC Super Hero Girls animated short from WB Animation along with a lyric video set to the DCSHG theme song
Get Your Cape On, the full line-up of Mattel's new action dolls, and a first look at the Supergirl action figure, also from Mattel. Authors Shea Fontana and Lisa Yee shared new details and artwork from the upcoming DC Comics graphic novel and Random House Children's Books middle-grade novel series.

Moderated by DC All Access host Tiffany Smith, the panel featured the creative women behind-the-scenes of
DC Super Hero Girls, including:
• Lisa Yee, Random House Children's Books DCSHGs Middle-Grade Novel Series Author
• Ashley Eckstein, Voice of DCSHGs' "Cheetah"
• Tania Missad, Mattel Consumer Insights Director
• Christine Kim, Mattel Toy Design Manager
• Shea Fontana, DCSHG Animation Writer & DC Comics Graphic Novel Author
• Aria Moffly, DCE Creative Director

Fans who weren't at the Con can watch the new animated short and check out the Mattel's action dolls at www.DCSuperHeroGirls.com. DC Super Hero Girls is an exciting new initiative from DC Entertainment, Warner Bros. Consumer Products and Warner Bros. Animation, with key partners Mattel, Random House Children’s Books middle-grade novel series and DC Publishing.
