Coraline is the story of a young girl who unlocks a mysterious door in her new home, and enters into an adventure in a parallel reality. Life is much more exciting on this side of the door, but when the inhabitants decide they’d rather keep Coraline to themselves, she discovers that some doors are better off closed. This horror-fantasy film is based on the Hugo Award-winning book by Neil Gaiman, author of Stardust and The Sandman Comics, and directed by Henry Selick, the director behind Nightmare Before Christmas and James and the Giant Peach!
In January 2009, NECA released their first offerings in the Coraline figure collection with three 7" Bendable figures. This figure assortment offered three different costumed versions of Coraline, including the Striped Sweater outfit, the Raincoat & Boots outfit, and the Pajamas outfit. All three Bendy figures, all of which were produced in a 7” scale, featured unique head sculpts.
The Coraline collection continued with the release of three 3" PVC figure boxed sets, seeing release in Febraury 2009, and as part of their 2009 San Diego Comic Con exclusives, NECA offered collectors a forth 7” Bendy figure that featured Coraline in her Star Sweater.
