The Punisher, or Frank Castle, was born in New York and is a former United States Marine. Castle's family had been murdered by the Costa crime Mafia for witnessing a Mafia gangland execution, and now, under the alias as the vigilante The Punisher, Frank Castle fights a one-man war against crime.

Revealed in July at the 2012 San Diego Comic-Con, Hasbro's fourth series and nineteenth wave of Marvel Universe action figures includes Scarlet Witch, She-Hulk, Punisher, Kang, Shattered Dimension (Future Foundation) Spider-Man, as well as a Bag-Man variant action figure. This assortment of Marvel Universe action figures began shipping in October 2012.
