Toy Biz: X-Men: The Movie
X-Men Movie
Professor X

Comments: Get your calculators, magic markers, and particle accelerators out kids and we’ll go through the variations of Toy Biz’ X-Men: The Movie Series 1 Professor X figure. In a nutshell, there were initially two paint variations of Charles Xavier released, even though only one was ever featured on the package. The Professor X figure was released in both a black and a blue suit, and all indications show that both were shipped in equal quantities.

Without announcement or warning, Toy Biz resculpted the figure’s head to give it a very good Patrick Stewart likeness. The new head sculpt was the released on both suit variations. The variation was discovered during the 2000 San Diego Comic Con, and briefly created an artificial price hike upwards of $100 a figure. Thankfully, Toy Biz’ amazing distribution and case assortments instantly killed the crazy secondary price hike, leaving only a few hundred collectors banging their heads against the wall with a severe case of buyer’s remorse. Of the four variations, the blue suit, original head appears to be the most difficult to come by, even though all four appear to have seen equal distribution.

Produced to be available during the theatrical release of the feature film, the X-Men: the Movie action figure collection by Toy Biz dominated the toy shelves in 2000.
