Hasbro: G.I. Joe – 25th Anniversary
Yo Joe
Cobra Arctic Assault Squad
Extreme Conditions Weather Set

G.I. Joe Pitt Stop:
By Vince Zannelli
Near the end of 2008, Hasbro released 2 different Internet exclusive Cobra extreme conditions weather sets, one for extreme heat and one for extreme cold. Each set contained 7 figures and a myriad of accessories perfect for building Cobra armies. The figures used camouflage colors and designs best suited for their respective environments, and featured previously used accessories and various body parts (with a few newly sculpted ones interspersed) to create some truly unique offerings not found elsewhere.

SNOW SERPENT TROOPER
The Polar Combat Specialist version of Snow Serpent has different accessories than the Polar Heavy Weapons Specialist version also included with this Extreme Conditions: Cobra Arctic Assault Squad. The sculpt and coloring is the same as the single-carded Snow Serpent released in 2008. Accessories include a black rifle, LAW rocket launcher with 4 missiles, storage backpack, 2 snowshoes, and a stand.

SNOW SERPENT TROOPER
The Polar Heavy Weapons Specialist version of Snow Serpent has different accessories than the Polar Combat Specialist version also included with this Extreme Conditions: Cobra Arctic Assault Squad. The sculpt and coloring is the same as the single-carded Snow Serpent released in 2008. Accessories include a grey machine gun, grey rocket launcher with stand, backpack, 2 snowshoes, and a stand.

SNOW SERPENT OFFICER
The Polar Assault Officer version of Snow Serpent differs from the other two versions included with the Extreme Conditions set in that the former has a different color scheme and mixed accessories. The sculpt is the same as the single-carded Snow Serpent released in 2008. The brown and black accents display rank and differentiate between different Snow Serpent strata within the Cobra army. Accessories include a grey machine gun, a black submachine gun, grey rocket launcher with stand, backpack, 2 snowshoes, and a stand.

COBRA VIPER
The Arctic Trooper version of the Cobra Viper has different accessories than the Heavy Weapons Trooper version also included with the Extreme Conditions: Cobra Arctic Assault Squad. The sculpt is the same as the single-carded Cobra Viper released in 2008 but the paint application has been changed slightly to match the rest of the Cobra Arctic Assault Squad. Accessories include a black machine gun, black backpack, black goggles, and a stand.

COBRA VIPER
The Heavy Weapons Trooper version of the Cobra Viper has different accessories than the Arctic Trooper version also included with the Extreme Conditions: Cobra Arctic Assault Squad. The sculpt borrows from the previously used Cobra Viper head, and the entire body of Copperhead. The paint application has been changed to blue and grey in order to match the rest of the Cobra Arctic Assault Squad. Accessories include a grey machine gun, a black heavy weapons machine gun with tripod and strip of ammo rounds, a black handgun, grey backpack, grey rocket launcher with stand, black goggles, and a stand.

TELE-VIPER
This version of Tele-Viper uses a the repainted body of Arctic Snake Eyes (2008) as well as the head of the first modern era Tele-Viper figure that was included with the RAM Cycle vs. Flight Pod mini-vehicle assortment in early 2008. While the first release had the figure in its vintage color scheme, this version has an arctic camo deco that matches the rest of the Cobra Arctic Assault Squad; however, the first version only included a backpack whereas this accessories included with this version now features: a grey machine gun, a blue backpack with knife and antenna, a portable computer module, a small black communicator, a radio, and a stand.

SCRAP-IRON
This version of Scrap-Iron features a newly sculpted head, and borrows the body and arms from a 25th Anniversary Cobra Trooper, as well as the legs from the 25th Anniversary Firefly. As always, Srap-Iron's accessories are what make the figure so popular with collectors, and this arctic version does not disappoint as he includes his signature black missile launcher with base, two blue missiles, and a remote to control it, a grey machine gun, a black pistol, a removable visor, and a stand.
