The PYTHON CRIMSON GUARD force is the crème de la crème of shock troopers. They must be college graduates and in top physical condition. The PYTHON CRIMSON GUARD trooper is a master at infiltration and sabotage. His function is to spy on his fellow troopers and report all violations of COBRA policy to the PYTHON PATROL commander. Too precious to be wasted on the conventional battlefield, they are dispersed throughout the country and assume a normal appearance and lifestyle. Even within the PYTHON CRIMSON GUARD, they present themselves as steadfast members while secretly noting any displays of disloyalty to the COBRA organization. "Watch out! That friendly new neighbor of yours just might have a snakeskin PYTHON PATROL uniform handing in his closet…"
This version of the Python Patrol Elite trooper is a repaint of the 25th Anniversary wave 5 Crimson Guard (Cobra Elite Trooper) figure, and sports a design very similar to the 1989 series 8 Hasbro Python Patrol Crimson Guard. The card art has been changed from the wave 5 red Crimson Guard release, as the art now depicts the character running to the left instead of running straight. This change did not take place in the vintage G.I. Joe toy line, and the 1985 and 1989 Crimson Guard releases shared almost identical card art, the only notable difference being the red coloring vs. the Python Patrol repaint color scheme. The figure comes with a machine gun, six-shooter pistol, black backpack, and stand.
