DUKE was fluent in French, German and English when he enlisted. He graduated top of his class at the Fort Benning Airborne School. He opted for U.S. Army Special Languages School, specializing in Han Chinese and Southeast Asian dialects. Upon graduation, he served in the Army's Special Forces unit in Southeast Asia, where he received the Medal of Honor and two Bronze Stars for single-handedly rescuing 34 POWs from a heavily guarded enemy compound. As squad leader of the TIGER FORCE commandos, DUKE leads this top-secret rapid-response unit on missions to defuse explosive situations around the world. "DUKE has more combat experience than some of those generals in the Pentagon. He's the kind of grunt you want to have right by your side when the going gets rough. He can assess any hostile situation with lightening speed and act upon it instantly. The man doesn't know the meaning of he word fear. In fact, I don't thin he has ever head of the world at all."
Paying homage to the seventh series Tiger Force Duke sub-series figure from Hasbro's vintage line. With the exception of reworked forearm articulation, this version of Duke utilizes the entire body from the 25th Anniversary G.I. Joe team boxed set repainted with a Tiger Force appropriate color scheme. There is an uncorrected error on his file card, since the rank designation assigned to Duke (E-6) is not that of a First Sergeant in the United States Army. An E-6 is commonly known as a Staff Sergeant (SSG), and an E-8 is a First Sergeant. Hasbro has not yet corrected this file card oversight. Tiger Force Duke features brand new ‘vintage accurate’ accessories, which includes a handgun, machine gun, backpack, helmet, binoculars, and stand.
