The Comedian was released in September 2013 as the fifth figure in Mattel's 6-inch Watchmen subscription service, Club Black Freighter. The Comedian comes packaged in a Watchmen branded outer box, with an inner packaging that resembles a book and features character unique art. An over-sized trading card with a character bio is included with the figure, as well as a removable flamethrower backpack, a shotgun and a Watchmen figure stand.
