Hasbro's Marvel Comics Q&A: The Answers! (Partial)
Posted by Curto on September 25, 2009 at 04:30 PM CST:

We've passed on 5 of your burning Marvel Comics questions! So check out the latest scoop we've got for you this all-new, all-different monthly Q&A session with Hasbro.

Cool Toy Review: When the Marvel Universe Fans' Choice Poll results were announced (Archangel, Havok, Mark Jane Watson, Mystique, and Winter Soldier), you revealed there would be two more winners revealed during San Diego Comic-Con. Assuming that the Luke Cage figure shown in the display case was one of them, who was the other winner?

Hasbro: Runner-ups will be announced before the end of the year.

Cool Toy Review: The biggest Marvel news recently has been the Disney/Marvel merger. What, if any, effect does this have on the Marvel/Hasbro relationship. Will we still be able to look forward to the Marvel Comics characters produced by Hasbro, or does this merger change any plans you may have made in terms of release, characters, etc.

Hasbro: Not at all, Hasbro still has the rights for all of the Marvel properties through 2017 and we will continue to work closely with the Marvel teams to produce great product.

Cool Toy Review: In a previous Q&A session, we were told that there would be more characters, specifically FEMALE characters made for both the Wolverine and the X-Men and X-Men origins: Wolverine toy lines. Seeing that there was a lack of anything new shown during SDCC, does this mean those plans have changed? Will they continue past 2009? This is mostly for the XO:W line, which is a wonderful companion to the popular Marvel Universe line.

Hasbro: We do not currently have plans to continue the Wolverine line past 2009.

Cool Toy Review: Speaking of MU...both the S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent and Hydra Soldier in the TRU packs, while cool, are not exactly based on their more iconic appearances from the comics. Is it posisble we will one day get more accurate representations of these troop builders?

Hasbro: No answer sent. (stay tuned...)

Cool Toy Review: Love...LOVE the Super Hero Squad figures! There's something that's just very, very cool about seeing the cute 'n cuddly versions of the Marvel Universe in this form. There's already been a few hundred figures in this line in a short period of time, and with an animated series and video game in the works, it seems the sky is the limit! Can you talk about any background info into how this line came to be? How do you go about choosing the characters for each set? And just how deep into Marvel history can you go? Are there any characters that are "off limits"?

Hasbro: No answer sent. (stay tuned...)

The last 2 questions were not answered. Usually, we ask 5 questions per session. I don't recall being told that the number was cut down to 3, so I'm trying to get the missing answers. Stay tuned...!
