Mattel Q&A Session: The Answers
Posted by Curto on November 14, 2008 at 12:30 PM CST:
As part of Mattel's bi-weekly Q&A session, Cool Toy Review passed on 3 of your burning questions and now we've got the answers for you.

Cool Toy Review: When are we going to see a Movie Masters Two-Face? Almost everyone wants to know, so if you can just tell us about it and any other new movie masters you are planning, that would be great! Thank you.

Mattel: Two-Face will be out in Spring of 2009. We were not able to get reference for this character in time for the movie launch, but everyone at Mattel is very excited to get this must have character into the line.

Cool Toy Review: What are the chances of seeing more Movie Master figures from films other than The Dark Knight? It's been mentioned before that figures from the films, Batman 1989, Superman, and Superman Returns were in the works. Are those just rumors and wishful thinking or will we be seeing these soon? I know I'd like to have a 6" Michael Keaton Batman or a Christopher Reeves Superman to go along with my Movie Masters Batman figures.

Mattel: All of these are ideas we are very interested in perusing, but because each character is related to an actor likeness, there are a lot more hoops to jump through to make this happen. It is something we are very interested in, but it is not as simple as just sculpting and releasing the character. When Matty has an update you can bet he will make no secret about it!

Cool Toy Review: We've seen photos of JLU figures coming soon like the Old Bruce Wayne and Batman Beyond (by the way is that McGuiness in that suit or Wayne?) Will we see other characters from other DCU programs? I know technically they did appear in the JLU, but really they from Batman Beyond. I love the thought that we could be seeing more from Batman Beyond in the JLU figure style like Blight, Shriek the Royal Flush Gang and so on...I cant get enough of the JLU figures and would love to see it branch out into all the DCAU series. Also is there going to be any repacks of hard to find figures like Deadshot and Big Barda?

Mattel: We are looking into doing additional Batman Beyond packs (and that is Terry in there, we checked). It will all depend on how this pack does at retail. As for Deadshot and Big Barda, we are deliberately spacing out re-releases of these characters to keep the line going. Not to worry, we will get to all the hard to find figures in time!

If you have questions for the team, please post them in our forums, and we'll pass them on for you.
