Mattel Q&A Session: The Answers
Posted by Curto on March 31, 2009 at 01:12 PM CST:

As part of Mattel's bi-weekly Q&A session, Cool Toy Review passed on 3...no, scratch that...8 of your burning questions and now we've got the answers for you.

Cool Toy Review: What are the chances of seeing some plastic clamshell protectors for MOC collectors of the DCU Infinite Heroes line (or the DCU Classics) available from MattyCollector?

Mattel: This is something we want to do, but with the limited resources we have, right now we are putting our energy into the new figures. In time once the site grows and we have more resources we hope to offer these.

Cool Toy Review: Do you plan to release other popular characters like Acquaman, Black Manta, Penguin, Riddler, Red Tornado, Hawk Girl, Batgirl in the Infinite Heroes line?

Mattel: Yes in time.

Cool Toy Review: With the reveal of the new style of articulation for Infinite Heroes, do you plan to revisit all of the existing figures with the new ball joint articulation?

Mattel: Yes in time.

Cool Toy Review: Can you provide any hints as to what SDCC exclusives will be for Justice League and Cars? If not, when will we find out?

Mattel: We will announce our SDCC exclusives in April, likely on Facebook.

Cool Toy Review: Are there any more Teen Titans or Super Friends characters planned for the Justice League line?

Mattel: Yes in time. (wow, we are sounding repetitive huh?)

Cool Toy Review: Do you plan on updating the rest of the Kenner Super Powers line in Justice League style? We have to yet see a Robin, classic Aquaman, Firestorm, Penguin, Mr. Freeze, Golden Pharoah, Cyclotron, Hal Jordan, etc?

Mattel: It is definitely possible, but we are also interested in doing all of the Super Powers 6? line as well.

Cool Toy Review: At one of the recent conventions you had mentioned that you are looking at other ways to release Hal Jordan in the Justice League line, any updates yet?

Mattel: Not yet, but we are talking to DC about different possible ways to release a Hal.

Cool Toy Review: Will we be seeing anymore Super Friends figures past Cyborg? For example Robin & Joker, also are there plans to re-issue Hawkman?

Mattel: At this point the Super Friends line will be continuing as an Imaginex line in the Fisher Price aisle. We know there are a lot of adult collectors out there looking to make a larger 6? collection, but right now, our 6? line will be focused on the DC Universe Classics style. At the end of the day we have a limit on the number of figures we can do and we have some new exciting styles we are working on which we hope fans will be just as excited about.
