Based on the Japanese novel Kaijin-20-menso ('Fiend with Twenty Faces') by Edogawa Rampo, the upcoming Japanese feature film K-20 brings all the excitement of a modern day Hollywood superhero blockbuster to a world still picking up the pieces from World War II. Set in 1949 in the fictional city Teito that has a very large gap between the rich and the poor, a mysterious thief called Kaijin Niju-Menso (the Phantom Thief with 20 faces) does all he can to level the scales. ...in his favour.
To keep the police off his tail, Kaijin Niju-Menso frames Heikichi, a circus acrobat, to take the fall. Heikichi manages to escape from jail and sets forth on his mission to capture the real K-20 in order to prove his innocence. Starring Takeshi Kaneshiro (House of Flying Daggers) as Heikichi, the film opens in Japan next month.
