The next figure in Diamond Select Toys' Marvel Select action figure collection is based on Jean Grey as Marvel Girl. The design is based on her appearance in the original X-men comic book, and features her graduation costume. The figure comes with a display base designed to look like half of the Xavier's School front gate.
The chase variation of this figure is based on Jean's alternate universe daughter Rachel Grey in the costume she wore after she took her mother's original code name to honour her after her death. This version of Marvel Girl comes with a flip side of the regular edition's base, but instead of the sign say "Xavier's School For Gifted Youngsters" it says "Xavier Institute For Higher Learning". When put side to side the two bases will create the front gates of the school.
In addition to its use with these two figures, Diamond also hints that the bases, with replaced gates, will be used for a couple of upcoming Avenger Marvel Select action figures. Click the thumbnails above to see the full sized images.
