2012 is the year that McFarlane SportsPicks adds an extra layer of excitement into their lineups. Starting in NFL series 29, and continuing on through NFL 30 and NFL 31, each lineup will have a special ?Premiere? collector level figure which includes an autographed plaque from an actual player.
Series 29 gets the action started with the ?Gronk?. New England Patriots? Rob Gronkowski had a breakout 2011 season where he set NFL records for tight ends for most receiving touchdowns (17), most total touchdowns (18), and most receiving yards (1,327). He is also the first tight end in NFL history to lead the league in receiving touchdowns for an entire season. This first premiere collector level figure, along with the rest of NFL series 29, is due out in stores this July.
NFL series 30 will include the autograph of one of the greatest QB?s in the game today, 2011 NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers, coming off of a Super Bowl victory with the Green Bay Packers, compiled one of the most remarkable statistical seasons in NFL history. He threw for 4,643 yards and 45 touchdowns, with just 6 interceptions. Accumulating a passer rating of 122.5 during the Packers 2011 campaign, his effort stands as the best single season passer rating in NFL history. Series 30 hits stores this September.
What would an NFL season be without a little Tebowmania? After steering the Broncos to an unimaginable playoff victory against the Steelers in 2011, where he threw for 316 yards and 2 touchdowns, Tebow said goodbye to the Broncos and hello to the J-E-T-S, Jets! Jets! Jets! There is no telling what can happen in 2012, but NFL series 31 will celebrate the Tebow phenomena with 150 autographed nameplates.
