Toy Fair 2013: The McFarlane Toys Booth
Published by AnthonyP on February 10, 2013 at 11:10 PM CST |

As you may know by now, we're big fans of The Walking Dead and the Brand Manager of McFarlanes' The Walking Dead line treated us to a great display of action figures currently hitting retail as well as figures that have yet to be released.

To start off, the Representative explained to us that it's McFarlanes' goal to include as much articulation as possible, or at least have the action figures possess an action feature or two (such as a swinging arm, removable limbs, or moving jaw). He also went on to explain that they have taken great pride within their paint applications and the factory has been doing a great job portraying blood detailing and other intricate paint applications.

Great news for the collectors who weren't able to pick up Daryl Dixon. Merle and Daryl Dixon will be included in a two-pack that is scheduled to be released this Fall. This will give you an opportunity to pick up one of the hardest figures to find within this line to date. There are also plans to sell two-packs of figures that have been released with paint variations. These two-packs will retail for approximately $24.99 (or at least, that's the target price-point).

As the conversation went on, we began to talk about the possibility of deluxe packs and were told that a Daryl figure with a poncho and his motorcycle is a perfectly reasonable pack to potentially see within this line. Unfortunately, there are no plan for environments, but they are looking into dioramas.

Fans may know by now, that the upcoming Carl action figure will not include his gun or gun holster due to current events in today's real world. However, there is potential to see his accessories packaged with another figure in or for collectors to have a Carl figure with his gun as seen in the television show.

Lastly, the fourth assortment with have a shared exclusive Rick Grimes action figure. This Rick figure will have the Rick head sculpt from series one with a bloody Rick body from series two. no word yet on which company this exclusive action figure will be shared with.

Stay tuned to check out our extensive image gallery of the McFarlane booth at the 2013 International Toy Fair.
