TF2008 PR: Hasbro Hulk
Posted by Curto on February 28, 2008 at 02:00 PM CST:
If at first you don't succeed...it's not as if the last Hulk movie was a bad movie. The look of the last film was dynamic, and the storyline was interesting as far as origins go, but let's face it...when you are going to a Hulk movie, you want to SEE the Hulk!

So there's a new movie coming out this year, and we were shown a great behind-the-scenes interview with the creators who discussed the direction this movie is going to take. Taking inspiration from the 1970s tv series, this new movie takes place a few years after the last one, and Bruce Banner is on the run from pretty much everyone, all the while still trying to calm the beast within. Thankfully, he doesn't quite make it...or else we wouldn't have all these cool toys to check out!

Basic Figures
Now THIS is an interesting line. Naturally, we have multiple Hulk figures, and each one does something unique and has its own features. While the Hulk himself is in the 6" scale, the other figures (the "Hulkbusters") are 3?"...and you know, that actually works. The Hulk should be bigger than your run-of-the-mill humans, and at this scale, there are more opportunities for vehicles and larger accessories than you'd normally find included in a toy line. Look for these new toys to smash intio stores on 5/1. Look for characters from both the movie and video game to be included.

Deluxe Figures
Giving the Hulk a little something extra to smash is just what the doctor ordered...not to mention the fans! These figures include an extra Hulkbuster figure to smash!

Super Hero Squad
Hey, even a gamma ray-spawned green goliath can get cute, right? Check out these comic book-inspired sets from recent storylines "Planet Hulk" and "World War Hulk".

Games
For the kid in all of us, there's a fistful of games to get the action started:
"Don't Wake Hulk" is where you become another Marvel hero and try to beat the clock before the Hulk wakes up!
"Operation Hulk" is a new version of the classic game where players can operate on the Hulk.
"Hulk Smash" mixes the board game fun with Play-Doh sculpting...which can be smashed by a giant Hulk-sized fist!

And The Rest!
Speaking of Hulk fists...kids can become the Hulk with the new version of the Hulk Hands! They are different than the previous Toy Biz version, with new sculpting and sound effects built in. Also, look for a Hulk glow mask to play dress-up, a NERF blaster, and a 14" Hulkey Pokey Hulk doll.
