WonderCon 2017: The DC Entertainment Booth
DC Entertainment took advantage of the absence of Marvel Entertainment at WonderCon by focusing their display on Wonder Woman's 75th Anniversary, and the palpable excitement generated by the recent release of their Justice League movie trailer. The relatively small display of current and forthcoming items from all forms of DC media was intended to be overshadowed by the full Wonder Woman costume, worn by Gal Godot in the upcoming film, which was on display behind glass at the center of the DC booth. The Injustice: Gods Among Us 2 video game was represented by an assortment of upcoming action figures and collectibles, as was the 25th anniversary of Batman: The Animated Series: Riddler, Catwoman, and a Batman figure that will include a set of varying interchangeable expressive head sculpts. The successful DC Bombshells line had Kitana, Jesse Quick, and Raven on display, and Starfire debuted as part of the Amanda Connor DC Designer Series maquettes. From the Wonder Woman movie, there was a deluxe statue set featuring Wonder Woman and Steve Trevor, a LEGO Wonder Woman "Warrior Battle" building set, Wonder Woman Funko collectibles (available April) and a Mattel 12" poseable action figure assortment (available April). There was even a line of Wonder Woman inspired cosmetics available exclusively at Walgreens to be made available in June. A new wave of Justice League action figures will be released this summer around the time of the Wonder Woman movie, and they debuted next to a new assortment of DC Super Hero Girls toys (spring release). Even Converse plans on releasing limited edition pairs of shoes featuring Justice League characters (available spring) exclusive to Journeys stores.
