A Closer Look At The Flint 1/6 Scale Figure
As we've seen over the last year, Sideshow has really slimmed down their 12" offerings, giving us only three main lines of 1/6 scale figures; Star Wars, The Dead, and G.I. A Closer Look At The Maleficent Premium Format Figure
What makes the classic Disney villains so cool? To anyone who has seen the old animated films, the answer is simple. The villains in films such as Snow White, 101 Dalmatians, and Sleeping Beauty aren't comedic. They aren't child-friendly. They are cold calculating adults that won't let anything get in their way.

As hard as it may be to believe, it looks like a Marvel Comics support cast character may be one of the best Legendary Scale Busts in the entire collection. A Closer Look At The Gambit Premium Format Figure
It would be hard to argue against how dynamic many of the characters in the X-Men universe are, but only a small group transcend all others as essential characters. Through Chris Claremont's dizzying seventeen years of writing Marvel's The Uncanny X-Men comic book, almost every one of the coolest characters were his creation, and the last one that he gave us was the Cajun thief Remy LaBeau.
He was a man shrouded in mystery, and later through the near-equally brilliant writing of Scott Lobdell, he became one of the most tragic characters to contribute to the team's adventures. Of course, as often happens, a lot of the great subplots created by one writer get diluted when another writer takes over, but even with the wasted potential, Gambit is still one of the greatest X-Men of all times! James Cameron's Avatar Sinks Titanic
Having pulled in $1.843 billion Internationally, James Cameron's Avatar is now the highest grossing film of all times. Of that, only $551 million has been made in the US, which is still under Titanic's $600.8 million, but with Avatar still being played on many screens and DVD and Blu-Ray sales still a few months away, this film is going to be tough to catch up to.
How does this relate to the collectibles being produced by Sideshow Collectibles and Hot Toys and the toys being produced by Mattel? We're willing to bet all three companies will have success with their products over the next few years, and some of the earlier released products could very well become quite hard to find. Considering the tone and spectacle of the feature film, we could easily be looking at this generation's Star Wars. Full Report

The twenty-third series of the Sports Picks NHL figure collection has begun shipping. This series features six basic figures including the Washington Capitals' Alex Ovechkin, the Toronto Maple Leafs' Luke Schenn, the Hartford Whalers' Gordie Howe, the Pittsburgh Penguins' Marc-Andre Fleury, the second version of the Anaheim Ducks' Teemu Selanne, and the third version of the Boston Bruins' Bobby Orr.
McFarlane Toys has updated their site with images and information on the Collector Level variations randomly packed in this assortment which includes a Premier Level figure based on Alex Ovechkin in his All-Star uniform, an All-Star Level figure of Teemu Selanne in his Winnipeg Jets uniform, a Silver Level figure of Marc-Andre Fleury in his white Pittsburg Penguins uniform and painted carpet display stand, and a Bronze Level figure of Bobby Orr in his white Boston Bruins uniform.

A Closer Look At The Throne Of The Slayer
Did you know that Buffy The Vampire Slayer was one of the first properties to be transformed into 1/6 scale by Sideshow Collectibles? Back in 2000, when they released their first Buffy and three Gentlemen figures, they turned heads (including mine) with the extremely high level of detail and overall excellence, and the 12" collector figure world was never the same.
